Only in the South

Friday, March 15, 2013

Being born and raised in the South, I've grown up saying all sorts of "Southernisms"..you just grow up hearing your Momma, Daddy and everybody else say them and it's the norm. Of course, now that I live in more of a metropolis area, instead of the small country town I grew up in, I encounter all sorts of people from all around the US. I've had quite a few get a little confused when they hear some of the Southernisms I grew up saying...

If you're from the South, did you grow up saying these things too..or have any good ones of your own? If you're not from the South..do you think us Southern's are crazy?

    1. Our area was heavily settled by the Ulster Scots so it's really cool to hear we still have stuff in common after all these years. :)

  11. We just had a convo about this the other day at John's parents house! They are from New York and she said it annoys her when people say "fixin to". I say THIS all the time and I guess I didn't even realize that not everyone says this!!

  14. I didn't know until a few years ago that "fixin' to" wasn't the norm. Everyone around here says it, and I've just never thought about it before.

Love all of these, by the way! (new follower!)
