a truly Southern Thanksgiving
Monday, November 25, 2013
In the South, we love our down home cookin' and Thanksgiving is the perfect time to show off all those recipes that have been passed down generation to generation. And you better believe most of these recipes have that one special ingredient...you know, the one that memaw made sure to keep secret from her friends at the country club. It just wouldn't be a traditional Southern Thanksgiving without these tried & true comfort dishes, great family, and good fellowship. {Enter His gates with Thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.|Psalm 100:4|}
Here a just a few of my favorite Southern Thanksgiving dishes via Southern Living.
APPLE BOURBON TURKEY
CORNBREAD DRESSING
SQUASH CASSEROLE
COLLARD GREENS
BUTTERMILK BISCUITS
MASHED POTATOES
CORN PUDDING
GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE
CHOCOLATE PECAN PIE
PEACH COBBLER
What are your family's favorite Thanksgiving recipes?

Corn pudding and my grandma's dressing are my favorites hands down. I have also never met anyone else whose family makes corn pudding for Thanksgiving before. My husband looked at me funny the first time I tried to explain it to him. It is so delicious.
