Beauty Favorites: Foundation + Concealer

Tuesday, March 01, 2016

A beauty post has been on my agenda for far too long and I'm glad to be finally sharing it with all of you. When I first sat down to write this post, I was going to do one big post of all my favorites (skincare, hair, and makeup) and then realized how long it would be. So instead of a never ending post I decided I would start a new Tuesday series of Beauty Favorites. I've always enjoyed beauty products and I have a long list of tried and true favorites, but also love trying new beauty products and discovering what works best for me. My hope is for this series to continue on as I try new products, while sharing with y'all my thoughts, good and bad.

Below I've gathered together my beauty must haves for foundation and concealer, along with my thoughts on each product. I like to rotate out certain products, so I've also included those as well. I hope y'all see something that you may want to try out, but I would also love to hear your thoughts on any product recommendations! Next Tuesday I'll be sharing my Beauty Favorites for Bronzer, Blush + Contour/Highlighting.

Foundation + Concealer

bareMinerals Bareskin has been the foundation I've been using most recently. I love the coverage this provides without feeling too thick. I will say that it took me a few shades until I found the correct one for my complexion. I use bare buff

Covergirl Outlast Stay 3-in-1 I originally tried this foundation as a sample from Influenster and surprisingly loved it. I've always been a liquid foundation girl because I like full coverage and this one does not disappoint, it's been a repeat buy for me. It has concealer and primer that makes it s 3 in 1 and it always lasts all day for me. I use buff beige 825

Loreal Visible Lift This is an anti-wrinkle foundation that I rotate between. I've been able to see a visible evening in my skin tone with using this foundation. It is a bit on the thicker side for a full coverage but can fill a bit heavy. I usually use this foundation when I've been having a noticeable breakout once a month.

bareMinerals Ready Foundation If I'm looking for a bit more coverage I brush a few sweeps of this over my face after I'm finished applying my liquid foundation and concealer. I use R250

Trate Maracuja Creaseless Concealer This is the concealer that I find myself using the most. I love the thickness of this concealer and coverage it has. I do have to reapply it about halfway throughout the day to brighten up my under eye area. I use light

Laura Mercier Secret Concealer If I had to list a number 2 on my list this would be it. I struggle with under eye darkness and have to say this really brightens that area up. It doesn't crease at all, which is a huge plus for me since I wear eyeliner on my bottom lashes and have had concealers in the past cause my eyeliner to run...not a good look! I use color #2

Smashbox Camera Ready Concealer Love, love, love this concealer..sadly it's no longer available, so I've switched over to the High Definition concealer, which I like always but feel it's a little too liquid for what I prefer.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind This would have to be one of my all time favorites! I carry this in my bag incase I ever need to refresh my under eyes. This adds an instant brightness, but in my opinion doesn't last as long as I would like. I still apply one of my other concealers first and just use this one for extra brightening or like I said for a refresh. I use light pale.

Have y'all used any of these products, what are your thoughts? Also, I'd love to hear about some foundation and concealer products that y'all are loving! xo, S

    1. Of course...let me know if you end up trying any of these out! Be careful if you get color matched for the bare minerals bareskin foundation, they matched me almost 3 shades too light. I ended up going to Ulta and buying a darker shade so I wouldn't look like casper the ghost (lol)!
