Eyeshadow + Eyeliner + Mascara

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette My most favorite eyeshadow palette for daily use. I started out with the full Urban Decay Naked Palette, which while I still love it and listed it below as a favorite, the basics palette, is my go to. I find myself using natural hues daily, which is basically what this palette consists of. The Naked Basics 2 Palette is also on my wish list because I feel like it has a bit more of a brown/tan undertone.

Urban Decay Naked Palette I got this when the Naked palette was a buzz and first came out. I still like it, though I feel like I only use the neutral shades (virgin, naked, buck, and toasted) I rarely use some of the darker shades, which is why I mentioned that the basics palette is the one I use daily.

Laura Mercier 3-pan Custom Compact I have been a big fan of Laura Mercier cosmetics for a long time, in fact one of my close friends was an artist for LM and shared a few secrets of the trade with me! This custom compact is one of my favorites because you can interchange so many different shades. I actually have 2 eyeshadows (fresco + truffle) and 1 eyeliner (charcoal grey) in mine currently. I find that I use this more on special occasions, or when I want an overly dramatic smokey eye.

Too Faced Natural Eye I've had this palette for a while and it's still going strong after much use. My favorites from it are velvet revolver and push up. Here's also a little secret, if I'm in a hurry and don't have time to do my brows, I use the the darker tone sexspresso to fill them in a bit.

Motives Luxe Precision This eyeliner is my go to! One of my favorite things about this one is it does not smudge like so many others I have tried in the past. It stays on all day without reapplying and easily comes off with a makeup remover wipe. Since its a felt tip liner it is also great at creating a cat eye.

Elf Cream Eyeliner I alternate between the Motives eyeliner and this one depending upon my plans for the day/night. This one definitely has a heavier finish and is much darker, which is great for nights out where I'm going for a more dramatic smokey eye look.

Let me preface my mascara favorites by saying that I have tried dozens of mascaras trying to achieve that perfect look. I have longer lashes but they do not hold a curl, so it's important for a mascara to not only make my lashes curl, but also add thickness to them. Throughout trying so many mascaras, I always come back to Maybelline. I have a few other brands I like that I rotate, but at the end of the day Maybelline is my go to and you can't beat their price.

Maybelline The Colossal This has seriously been my go-to for forever and forever. It's thick without being clumpy and has great coverage. After trial + error I have learned that my ideal look comes from combining this plus the 2 mascaras below. I use this one as my "base" and apply the others afterwards.

Maybelline Mega Plush  I just recently discovered this mascara and decided to give it a try. I am obsessed!! I put this one on second after the colossal and honestly, I've never used a mascara with a brush like this one. It has a "flex brush" which helps it to go on evenly and over each lash. I think this gives my lashes the best curl.

Maybelline Falsies I've used this mascara for about as long at the colossal one. I had forgotten about this one for a while until I came across it in my makeup drawer and decided to try it out again. I don't like this one by itself, I think it is too stiff, but when applied overtop of the other two, I think it gives a good finishing look and helps to hold the curl.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes I tried this mascara out because of it's 4-in-1 (lengthen, curling, voluming, and conditioning) description and it definitely holds up to that. This one is great for when I don't have time to apply 3 different mascaras to achieve the look I want. I love Tarte because of their beneficial ingredients and this one doesn't disappoint, its infused with olive esters to condition, treat, and protect your lashes.

  1. I will have to try your mascara suggestions. I've been using Marc Jacobs and Dior mascaras, but they clump so easily. xo, Champagne&Suburbs
